  • About the Artist:

Description

Luke Samuel’s paintings focus on the threshold between interior and exterior spaces, holding up ideas relating to the “inside” against “outside” and experimenting with the moment that language, affect and representation bleed into one another, creating an inexplicable and affirming sensation of something other.

Luke Samuel (b. 1992, Cardiff) lives and works in London. Samuel received his BA (Hons) Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is currently enrolled at the Royal Academy Schools (2018 – 2021). Selected group exhibitions include: RBA Rising Stars, The Framers Gallery, London (2018); Summer Exhibition 2017, The Royal Academy of Arts, London (2017); Birth/Rebirth, Boundary Art, Cardiff (2017); The Painter-Stainers Prize 2016, Guildford House Gallery, Guildford (2016); and British Red Cross Winter Show, Guildhall, London (2015).
